The Kremlin said in a statement that Putin's executive decree "either bans or limits... the import into the Russian Federation of certain kinds of agricultural products, raw materials and food originating from countries that have decided to adopt economic sanctions against Russian entities and (or) individuals." — Agence France-Presse

Sanctions are an act of war, Europe and the EU should have no problems with this, and if they do, it indicates just how out of whack and delusional their policy makers really are.

Time to start packing and head for the hills. Things were bad enough as it was.

Quote:Finnish Food and Drink Industries' Federation (ETL) Director Heikki Juutinen says that Russia's decision to impose a ban on imports of agricultural products from countries that have imposed sanctions against Russia sounds like very bad news, especially if Finland is among the countries affected by the sanctions.

According to Juutinen, about 25 per cent of Finnish food exports go to Russia - that's worth more than 400 million euros.

It does sound like very bad news indeed chuckle.gif

Quote:Russia is imposing a "full embargo" on food imports from the EU, US and some other Western countries, in response to sanctions over Ukraine.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said it would include fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, milk and dairy imports.

Oh yes, our biggest dairy company gets two thirds of their profit from exports to Russia. Finnish food in Russia is considered to be of very good quality. Their imports standards are almost impossibly high. 13.gif

The US poultry industry will also suffer greatly.

This article is a few years old, but:

Quote:“Over the last three years, U.S. poultry exports to Russia averaged more than $800 million in value, making Russia our single largest export market,” the senators wrote in their letter to the president. “The poultry industry in this country represents over 500,000 jobs in the United States and has a significant impact on countless other communities across the country.

I'm not sure what the hell the intentions of these sanctions were. Surely they expected some sort of counteraction. Or was this the purpose? To plunge us all into financial ruin and present war as the only solution?

no one is going to go to war with russia, they can destroy the world with one button, these stupid sanctions are the only thing they can do.. its def feeling like world war 3 is about to hit, and i have never felt it happening before.. maybe it can be blocked..

i was reading somewhere (was it at kb?) about how the 100 year anniversary for world war 1 just passed.. i could be wrong.. so maybe its just those destrucive energies rising again to cause massive human harm.. someone is going to use nuclear weapons.. i keep thinking Isreal is going to use them on gaza, by accident.. i hope that doesnt happen.. the whole of europe would be ƒükkêd and the Med sea would be ruined..
