I'm of a mind that Russia really won't need to get or send resources to/from any other countries besides China and Iran. But, I am hard pressed to find any Russian citizens speaking out about how the continuing sanctions are really affecting their daily lives economically or otherwise...and now, no more Canadian bacon. Will this be the bacon strip that break's the bear's back?

Quote:He was also optimistic about new Russian economic links with China and Iran. Putin has recently agreed an oil-for-food deal with the Middle Eastern recovering pariah state, and a headline-grabbing $400 billion deal to supply gas to China.

Oh look, there's that word again. This is apparently the buzzword they've come up with to sell this conflict. Just watch it as more official news outlets will use this word, Pariah

"recovering pariah state"...and now with Russia's help, I think their recovery will be guaranteed, as well as their nuclear advancement taken well care of by Russia.

Ban is in effect.

Quote:Already on Thursday afternoon lorry drivers in Lappeenranta on the border began reporting that Russian border staff were no longer allowing trucks carrying dairy products to enter the country.

Europe Furious That Putin Dares To Retaliate To Sanctions, Blames Economic Slide On Kremlin

A one year ban on all EU food imports. The timing is brutal, this is harvest season.

I was just thinking this earlier. BRICs will be more than happy to supply Russia with what they have banned from NATO countries. Sure enough:

Quote:Russia plans to substitute banned goods with not just domestic supplies but imports from Latin America, China, and several other nations. Agriculture Minister Nikolai Fedorov said "no food shortages are expected," but more isolation for the West...
