I do not believe it will ever be figured out, and there's not much evidence the Egyptians built them, rather they were inherited from an earlier civilization. There is evidence of refurbishing that went on during the reign of Kufu.

As far as Occam's Razor being the answer the pyramids stones are man-made (synthetic, artificial), Cast in molds.

According to geopolymer.org there's no argument to be have and they have proven this and were constructed of a type of limestone concrete.
Have a look at the videos on this page:

That's exactly right. Not only that, most of the ruins in South America are the same way. The original stones used were ginormous and then more recent civilizations added crude constructions on top and they used regular stones.
What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice

I don't know about the pyramids but there is little doubt many of the constructs in SA were built using some sort of liquefaction.

I've read of a South American bird that gathers plant material chews and spits it into solid rock cliffs liquefying it to make a nest
But do you think I can find that?
