But she is pretty much an 18 year old south Philadelphia street punk.
I told her that there is, from my experience in life so far...
There is Nobody from her background, with her social skills, her communication habits that is a nurse.
They require a very specific kind of personality that she does not have and she is nowhere near qualified to attempt to satisfy.
And if she wants to be a nurse...
She has a 180 degree spin she needs to do.
Then she said...
Well I have the right to be myself.
Yeah.. So do I.
Take a look at me... You want to be me ?
I have the right to be me.
I satisfy nobody.
She spends the next whole day in her room angry.
Then the morning after...
The comes out acting a whole lot better.
Why didn't you just tell her to 'be amazing'. Once she learns what it takes to become a nurse, at that time, she may or may have not done a 180 degree turn (I know because I entered a nursing program at 17 years old but could not commit to the demands). As for what nurses need these days, well that would be self-defense training because the violence inflicted upon nurses is a very serious issue and there is no amount of social skills that will save her from being beaten.
