Holy crap heres a little trick that brings all windows settings together in one place without using the control panel. It's far more logical in layout and once you've tried it you wont go back to the control panel.
Works in Vista, Win 7 and 8.

Sorry xp users, you're SOL with this one.

1.) Make a new folder on your destop, leave the name as new folder.
2.) Right click on the folder and select rename.
3.) Rename the folder to GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

The folder changes to the control panel icon, open it up and there you have every setting and task in windows available in a logical layout. Much easier than navigating that damn control panel. I thought it was very cool and thought I'd pass it along. cheers.gif

Anything beats the current control panel. Hope they get that taken care of. Windows 8 strikes me as gimmicky with those metro apps, think I'll wait till Windows 9 to change OS's.

Was reading on a tech forum the other day about a guy bitching about not being able to find a setting in the control panel. In one reply somebody said "run it in god mode to reveal all the hidden settings."
I had never heard of it, so I Googled it and sure enough, instructions for doing so were scattered throughout the internet. Seems to be a well kept secret for whatever reason.

Well, butter my biscuit!
That worked like a charm fer me.
Most things I try in Windows 7
has more curves than a goat path.
Over my head, but this was understandable.

Yeah XP here too cause I like it. However my computer having issues, applied for a new You Tube Password, got that going and next day another message "said" from You Tube, opened it and said my video was not acceptable and click "here" to go to inbox. Did it and up came a page of pharmacies with sexual meds. closed that out quickly but my spam folder gets about 200 mails/day.

Checking files a moment ago shows I sent myself a email about penis enlargement pills. WTF?

Shut down the computer, rebooted and ran my anti-virus, spyware etc and says no "infections found." However this thing is slow. Thinking about taking everything off hard drive and go back on with win 7 gaah.gif

The first few times I tried it it wouldn't work. It said the brackets were not allowed. I tried it other ways that would not work. The last time I tried it the same way as the first time and it worked.

I dunno my hubby has win 7 on his laptop and I don't like it, maybe 'cause he has it tweaked to his preference and I won't mess with it. I take mine in every 6 months or so to get cleaned up by a pro, costs about $30 well worth it.

Quote:If you are using Windows 7 and are nostalgic like me about Windows XP, you can now download a Windows XP theme and use it on Windows 7.

XP Luna is a theme for Windows 7 that will bring the look and feel of Windows XP to Windows 7, definitely worth it if you want the simple looks of XP and the power of Windows 7.
