Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu to address issues of settling the Syrian crisis. The President gave an order to begin withdrawing the main part of Russian troops from the Syrian Arab Republic on March 15.

Interesting.

Seems they are putting a political effort forward.

Of course, those troops can be back in a Jiffy.

I'm wondering if al-Assad is warm and fuzzy over this development.

How about all countries keep their ğkking asses home

including their agents and Provocateurs

Defense is for enemies crossing a border

offense is when you become an enemy crossing a border

Evil is when you send your Youth to invade , kill and die for
your selfish ass enhancement of power over others

I wonder if it was more of a matter of them seeing the bills shoot up from their efforts and had flashbacks to 15 years in Afghanistan.

They are definitely up to something. I was thinking they were retaliating for our meddling in the Ukraine.

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

War is the time honoured method for restoring the world economy ~ all nations know it. This is prolly more about positioning and putting a good face on it. Ground troops are a fair-game target for opposing air assets.

The Bosphorus is more a long range goal for the Bear and Turkey has been crapping in Vlad's messkit. Perhaps a pincer reserve tactic is in the wings?

Maybe they're pulling them back to get them out of the burst radius of the nukes they're about to launch...

My gut tells me the reason behind this will all become apparent in a couple months. Russia has apparently secured their military interests for the time being.
The other deal is this venture is costing a lot of rubles to keep going.

Rubles go out so rubles must come in, or dollars/euros, I doubt they'd be picky about currency and having foreigns' reserves always comes in handy.
