Usually a pawn or Bishop are the first to fall.

Also, a Queen's Knight is one of the first to occupy the center of the board in the opening game.

This is just the beginning. Now it's our move. wait for it....

Better to have military posturing than full scale assaults.

As for likening this action to chess. I was reminded of the first time I was taught to play chess by a man I had just started dating, and who was very proud of himself.

Well, he quickly explained the game and it got to the stage where he was beginning to become angry. He then said that he was surprised that I had managed to corner him and promply ended the game.

Is there a point here...yes, many, but mine would be to never underestimate your opponent.

I guess it was a lucky thing that he didn't ask me to play backgammon because that's my game.

“Marshal Shaposhnikov, a Russian Udaloy-class destroyer, has docked at this port with the aim of strengthening military ties between Iran and Russia,” Vice-Admiral Hossein Azad said.

The report did not specify the exact purpose of the visit, or the length of time the ship was expected to remain in port.

Actually.... I'd be pissed off too. Who the hell was "Brian" playing? The girl or the guy?

That's two against one.

I'd be pissed too, but it's his own fault for not saying something earlier.

My only claim to chess fame is I beat the high school chess champ (I wasn't in the club). I did teach my kid and all her friends, that was fun. sometimes. 13.gif
