Quote:Officers end four-hour standoff after Occupy movement demonstrators, mostly UC students, take over a bank lobby in San Francisco's financial district.

Reporting from San Francisco—
Protesters in the Occupy Wall Street movement seized a Bank of America branch in the city's financial district Wednesday, a demonstration that forced jittery customers and employees to flee and ended in nearly 100 arrests.

It took about 40 police officers in riot gear nearly four hours to clear the bank, but no one was injured. Police said many of those arrested were UC Santa Cruz students who were protesting fee increases and budget cuts.

Police removed the protesters methodically, placing them in plastic handcuffs, citing them for misdemeanor trespassing and sending them off in police wagons for further processing.

"You're the 99!" the protesters told them as the arrests began.

They scrawled messages in chalk on the bank walls — "Greed!" and "Give Us Back What You stole!" — and plastered pink phone message slips on desks and computer screens. One man was seen urinating in a corner.

The siege began after several hundred protesters gathered for a rally at noon in a plaza near the waterfront and proceeded to march across town to the Civic Center. The route was designed to take marchers past buildings where members of the UC Board of Regents have offices.

When the crowd reached the Bank of America branch, organizers opened the door and ushered protesters inside. They jumped on desks and banged drums while bank employees huddled behind a counter.

"Banks got bailed out; we got sold out," the protesters chanted in a mood more jovial than angry. "People united will never be defeated!"

After consulting with the police, bank managers tried to reclaim the lobby.

"I respectfully ask you to protest outside," a bank official told the protesters, while shooing away a customer who tried to deposit a check. Most of the demonstrators left and continued on their march, but about 100 remained, setting up a tent in the lobby and sitting on the floor... LA Times

13.gif Sorta reveals their agenda. They want bailouts like the banks got and i can't blame them for that. But it solves nothing, only exacerbates the problem.

They are damn near as bad as the banks. They should pool money to bribe the politicians like the banks do, they might make a difference that way. coffeetime.gif

About a week ago, Prometheus posted a fascinating article on how lobbyists work. Blew me away. They don't even pay so much other than a measly several grand to campaign pockets, they offer staffers a JOB when they leave congress staff. Most of the money spent is on lobbyist wages, lobbyists (former staffers) with an inside trac to DC. So the staffer makes sure Pfizers (for ie) wish list is on the congressman's desk not for a kick back but for the expectation of becoming a lobbyist. And of course once the congressman loses his seat he takes his place in the ranks of highly paid lobbyists for his connections.

It's almost universal. Sadly it's the only work most of them can find with zero education, but not all of them by any means.
There are some that really do it for all the right reasons and I admit I respect that.

They were sprayed but it wasn't pepper spray. Is this the vid?

I've been pepper sprayed, I know what it's like, and not one of those kids even twitched. It was a photo news op. and every major MSM channel jumped all over it. Believe me. Go pepper spray yourself and see if you can sit there without moving getting a full on face blast. You can't. FAKE!

Total Media Circus, you can't believe anything you see in the MSM, it's there for indoctrination and propaganda and it's not really a reliable source of factual information.
