Searching for similar movies...

I usually assume my knowledge of various horror, sci-fi, etc and other movies to be pretty extensive but I believe I'm slightly limited when looking for certain video clips. For example, a certain video I'm working on could use some scenes similar to that of that from either Ender's Game, Star Ship Troopers, etc while another I believe could use some scenes from one of the movies based off of one of H.P. Lovecraft novels such as Dagon or perhaps the Thing.

I guess what I'm trying to ask for is if there are any other sci-fi, anime, video game, and/or horror buff out there that might have some ideas and may be able to give me some helpful hints on where to go and/or what to check out.

Thanks. coffeetime.gif

Ain't got Netflix nor can I really afford it. I'm broke and waiting for SSI/SSD. If I could I would just use Netflix and whatever else like it plus buy a bunch of old cheap movies from Amazon, but right now that isn't the best method to use.

Thanks, I'll try and check it out.

After you mentioned Netflix I talked to someone I know and they allowed me to use their credentials for their streaming account. For the past few days my internet connection keeps dropping (often about 2-3 times an hour) so I have halted my attempts to download some stuff since it is too frustrating to try and get something only for it fail over and over again.

So you're basically trying to find places where you can illegally watch or download movies to illegally use clips in them? damned.gif You know we can't have links to any such places.

If he's just editing them and not publishing them like his own material there's nothing really bad about it... and then there's that "fair use" thing too when using copyrighted material in some contexts.

I think it'd be safest just to rip stuff from dvd:s one owns or youtube and the like if one is concerned about the law.

i kinda like it here on the innernen

Event horizon is one. There were other starship troopers movies (not so good but similar framework/visuals). There's also that one where they were in cryoin a spaceship and had a bad mutation and went all cannibal on everyone I forget what it's called. (checked: pandorum). Snowpiercer maybe has something you can use.
