Quote:After needles were found in October in at least 10 potato bags purchased in grocery stores throughout the Maritimes, more than 360,000 kg (800,000 lbs) of potatoes had to be recalled and destroyed.
In November, the PEI government and the potato industry offered a reward of $50,000 to anyone providing information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the tamperings. That reward was doubled to $100,000 one month later.

Leave the potatoes alone! Sh*t, they really need to create more jobs on that Island.

Yeah, I also have pine needles to watch out for now.

Too bad I am not visiting P.E.I. at this time, because for a $100,000 reward, I'd set up a blind and camp out to photograph the idiot sewing needle vandals.

It's really disturbing people find it entertaining to sabotage food. I hope they find them and deal with them appropriately.

Some people are just messed up. Was it US who posted the vid on growing potatoes in gunny sacks? That I'd like to try. I've heard of using old tires, but who knows what leeches from the rubber. I'll stick to sacks. And I'm still going to try tobacco in the spring. Figure we can get our neighbor and his tractor down and disc up a bit of field. $100 for the machinery or 2 weeks digging with a shovel hmm.gif doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out rofl.gif

But I've been watching vids on growing produce in bags and that may be the way to go.

Just what i needed to see and read to start off another new year in this wicked world and these emotionally warped sickos are very f###en lucky i'm not in charge or i would hunt them down and force them to eat some of their own needle laced bags while friggin blindfolded and i'd laugh in their damn faces while they choked and gasped for air because innocent little children could die from these evil acts...
