Current events are getting very interesting. The signs spoken of in the Bible to watch out for are happening before our eyes, those that have eyes to see that is.

FALSE PROPHETS
Matthew 24:5 "For many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and will mislead many."

They’re so many options for this one. Here are some ideas, though don’t take this as a blanket statement that all people that do these jobs are false prophets. Simply put, these positions would provide an excellent platform to communicate with the masses.

“Leaders/Representatives” (Political, Human Rights, Civil Rights, etc…)
Reporters/Media
Scientists/Doctors
Movie/TV Stars
Professional Athletes

WAR
Matthew 24:6 "And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end."

‘Without warning in the dead of night of Jan. 3, on a dirt road in a remote region of Pakistan, two missiles slammed into a double-cab pickup truck and blew it to smithereens along with the six men inside. It's safe to say the victims never heard the U.S. drone circling far overhead.’

‘The U.S. military is planning to set up a new drone base in Northwest Africa, senior defense officials confirmed…in the latest effort to track the ever-expanding network of Al Qaeda affiliates and help the allied nations fighting them…In Obama's first term, there was a roughly 435 percent increase in the number of drone strikes in Yemen and Pakistan, according to one tally. Nearly 290 drone strikes were documented in Pakistan, though the administration does not confirm those numbers.’

FAMINE & EARTHQUAKES
Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes."

‘As you’ve probably heard by now, the numbers are in: 2012 was the warmest year in recorded history for Texas (technically tied with 1921, due to rounding) and the country as a whole.’
http://stateimpact.npr.org/texas/2013/01...d-drought/

‘Asia Press concludes that, based on dozens of interviews and previous reports, more than 10,000 people may have died as a result of a brutal drought-fueled famine last year in the North and South Hwanghae provinces, south of the country's capital, Pyongyang.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/28...66873.html

‘In 2012, there were at least 3,527 monthly weather records for heat, rain and snow broken by extreme weather events that hit communities throughout the U.S., according to an updated interactive extreme weather mapping tool and year-end review released this week by the environmental activist group Natural Resources Defense Council.’

TRIBULATIONS
Matthew 24:8-9 "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations on account of my name."

‘…the present conditions within the nation for minorities appear to be getting much worse, with a new video showing a Christian convert being beheaded for refusing to recant his beliefs in Jesus Christ…’

‘Last month, suspected militants slit the throats of at least 15 Christians near Maiduguri.’

‘In fact, aside from the Mormons, no religious group increased their numbers in 2012. But the religiously unaffiliated did grow! The story shouldn't have been that the rise of the "nones" was slowing down, but rather that the religiously unaffiliated is still the fastest growing religious identity. More people are leaving religion than joining religion. Even in the most Bible-minded cities in the country, 48 percent of people are "resistant" to the Bible.’

‘The removal of Christian symbols from the chapel at Forward Operating Base Orgun-E came after a solider complained — leading American Atheists president David Silverman to send a letter to the Pentagon.’
http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top...hapel.html

‘Your petitioners are atheists, and they define their lifestyle as follows. An atheist loves himself and his fellow man instead of a god. An atheist accepts that heaven is something for which we should work now – here on earth – for all men together to enjoy. An atheist accepts that he can get no help through prayer, but that he must find in himself the inner conviction and strength to meet life, to grapple with it, to subdue it and to enjoy it. An atheist accepts that only in a knowledge of himself and a knowledge of his fellow man can he find the understanding that will help lead to a life of fulfillment.’

Plus you have all of this:

Hosea 4:3 “Therefore the land mourns, and all who dwell in it languish, and also the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens, and even the fish of the sea are taken away.”

The thing about wars and rumors of wars, famines, crazy weather, pestilence and all those other signs is that they have been happening as long as there has been humans. The only change is the global awareness of them.

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

Yes I agree with you Kreeper.

And I don't really think the Bible is a credible reference.

The only thing the Bible is proof of is that you have faith in it. It isn't even a valid historical account in some places.
40 Years to get from Egypt to Israel? Right. And guess what... the promised land is a ğkking desert. rofl.gif God truly has a sense of humor if this is to be believed.
Anybody that takes it in a littoral sense may need a critical thinking skills adjustment; but that's of course just my opinion.

LOL! But we do drink holy water!

Quote:Fascinating movie spans the globe to reveal recent discoveries about water, the most amazing yet least studied substance in the world. Witness as researchers, scientists, philosophers and theologians try to understand this unique liquid and all its miraculous properties still waiting to be discovered.

It was there that Heisenberg and Bohr came to Einstein to tell him it looked like the minds of the researchers were affecting the results of the experiments. Mind was inexorably linked to matter. Einstein later said, “Everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe-a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble.”

In this amazing film, Water, the Great Mystery, we can see that science has made a quantum leap into understanding how mind can be recorded by the most simple element in nature (water) and on the periodic table: H20. If water has memory, and its main component being hydrogen, then the whole universe would have memory. Hydrogen was born between 100 and 1,000 seconds after the big bang. It makes up 75% of the known mass of the universe and now is part of the missing mass equation.

Note: This documentary does not necessarily coincide with my views. Many viewers will consider this as pure pseudo-science.

This is an interesting documentary (video available at link):

Sure! Ancient texts is a totally different thing. Something edited and put together for our consumption is what I'm suspicious of.

Plato's works have 7 known copies and Aristotle's works have 50 known copies

The NT has 5600 known copies also Pontius Pilate's memoirs.

There are thousands more NT greek manuscripts than any other ancient writing.
