Ann Makosinski was just another teenager with another science project when she joined her local science fair in Victoria, Canada, last year. Her invention, a flashlight that is powered solely from hand heat, took second place at the competition.

Ann, 16, and her parents, both of whom are HAM radio operators and like to fiddle with electronics, were satisfied with that result.

“It’s a very simple project,” said Arthur Makosinski, Ann’s father. “It has four electrical components. Let’s move on and do something different.”

Good morning Shadow.

Yes, amazing. Imagine using this thermoelectric techology to, say, construct a suit/footwear that can take one's body heat/energy and store it for warmth.

Morning US, Friday! yay.gif

Yes, it is a great idea and hopefully they'll advance it. The flashlight doesn't give much light, 6 lumens or so but it's a damn good start!

Constructing gloves with the same technology could then transfer the hand heat energy to the flashlight...imagine how this would improve the working conditions of outdoor workers.

Surely her electronically orientated parents had a lot perhaps everything to do with this invention and then gave their young lady child most or all of the credit, because they actually love her, hey, like,i'm just saying, but if they were my parents i would have been kicked to the curb and told how worthless and stupid i am and given nothing but nothing, while they spent all their sales profits in vegas, while threatening me with thrown out of the house if i didnt have every damn cent of my rent money on time, hey, like,i'm just saying, some parents hate themselves desperately and take it out on their kids continuously, the children they never should have had, like myself and millions of others walking around in a daze with one foot already in their graves...

My mom got remarried when I was 12, they informed me, and his kids, that they "didn't want any kids living with them."
So, I spent the next year with my grandparents before moving in with my dad.
That was a great lesson in human nature for me, this new guy was ğkking important gawd dammit, and get away kid, you bother me.
He tried to commit suicide several times.
He's dead now, and mom always was from the neck up.
Certainly there are exceptions, but most family are people you wouldn't have shït to do with unless you were related.

If he didnt like and love you then he didnt really like and love your mom either, just like i knew and know that my step father really didnt like and love my mom because he was unwilling to like and love me and my brother, but i've been more than happy with myself knowing how i broke their family chain of misery and raised two beautiful girls and never once hit them and never once even yelled at them and they still tell me they love me and i know they really do and a few years ago my oldest daughter said to me "oh my god your so easy to talk to" and i am and i always was and i always will be,as my smile stretched from coast to coast when she said those unforgettable words to me (*-*)
