The song entitled 'Cracklin Rosie' is about a bottle of wine...I never knew that!

Quote:Cracklin' Rosie" is a bottle of wine. Diamond got the idea for the song from a folk story of an Indian tribe in Northern Canada who had more men than women. He told David Wild at Rolling Stone: “On Saturday nights when they go out, the guys all get their girl; the guys without girls get a bottle of Cracklin' Rosie, that’s their girl for the weekend.

Quote:Supposedly written about Warren Beatty, that is Mick Jagger on the background vocals.

Warren Beatty or Mick Jagger, Carly isn't talkin'? In reading wikipedia, it's still confusing - or is the song about three men?

Wife of a close friend:
"In a 1993 book Backstage Passes, however, Angela Bowie claimed to be the "wife of a close friend" mentioned in "You're So Vain", and that Jagger, for a time, had been "obsessed" with her."

Nick Nolte? - "The apricot scarf was worn by Nick (Nolte).

"In a 1989 interview Simon acknowledged that the song is a little bit about Warren Beatty but said the subject of the song is a composite of three men from her L.A. days.[7] In a 2007 interview Beatty said, "Let's be honest. That song was about me."[8] Simon has said that Beatty had called and thanked her for the song."

Without doubt Neil Diamond has the sexiest velvet in steel voice.

What do I stand for?

Great song Shadow.

Quote:Collins wrote this song about the anger he felt after divorcing his first wife Andrea in 1979
