Quote:They [Researchers at the University of Tennessee] were studying asteroid 1950 DA, which has a one in 300 chance of hitting the planet on 16 March, 2880.

Although the odds seem small, it is the most likely asteroid to collide with Earth and the odds are higher than being shot dead in the US.

The asteroid has a diameter of one kilometre and is travelling at nine miles a second relative to the Earth, which it would hit at 38,000 miles per hour.

The impact would have a force of around 44,800 megatonnes of TNT and cause a huge explosion, tsunamis and change the climate of the globe, devastating human life.

But with 35 generations to go until its possible arrival, scientists are confident that the disaster can be averted.
...
The University of Tennessee researchers said 1950 DA is rotating so quickly it “defies gravity” and is held together by cohesive forces, called van der Waals, never before detected on an asteroid.

I have no doubt asteroid deflection will become a reality very soon.

We would and could and should already have a deflection system functioning in position waiting and watching...

But thanx to the evils of war and organized religions and all our vast amounts of time and effort and money spent towards those diabolical realities...

We have not reached the technological levels of a class one civilization capable of preventing asteroid impacts...

So we still are nothing but a doomed civilization living blindly on borrowed time...

So all we can hope for is that our superior alien masters are able to prevent asteroids from destroying their human slave pets...

I also read where scientists can create matter from light energy, which could be used to deflect objects...or have sound waves travel on the newly created matter as another means of deflection. Some are not so blind as you think.

The evil military powers that be are always the first ones to get their homicidal paws and claws upon anything that scientists and chemists create and invent...

Knowing our rotten luck someday while launching a nuclear missile to rendezvous and detonate near an approaching asteroid to deflect it a little off course and away from earth we'll end up blasting the asteroid into fifty hydrogen bomb sized pieces slamming all over this planet simultaneously instead of one huge impact...

In sickeningly sad and sorry reality we will have earned that horrifying back lash of our well deserved and awaiting to be unleashed fate for all the massive amounts of evil and negative karma that we have been burying ourselves and each other beneath for so damn long now...

Any incoming comets and asteroids fast approaching this planet from the directions near and around the sun will be completely undetectable from all ground based observations...

So the faith shattering soul crushing reality of our withering away on borrowed time situation here on earth is knowing that before i finish typing this sentence this planet could be suddenly and horrifically slammed by a doomsday comet or asteroid that will annihilate humanity and theres absolutely not a damn thing that we will be able to think and say and do about it...

But it sure is nice and comforting to know that the royal bloodline elites will probably have enough warning from nasa and military space based cosmic intruder detections to be able to escape down into their atomic blast proof subterranean bunkers that they had built for themselves not for you and i with our forcibly extorted pay or get thrown into prison tax trillions...

The mutha f###en two faced back stabbing bitches and bastards...
