This monster storm is pretty intense it seems, we have a wind warning in place here and it's not even half as bad as in many other places. Stay safe folks. I hope Nodoom's hutch is sturdy enough for this wild weather. pope.gif

Quote:Storm winds batter western Finland

The south of Finland is feeling the force of storm-strength winds on Wednesday. Meteorologists are warning of the risk that power lines might be cut in the extreme conditions.

Winds reached storm-strength on Wednesday in the north of the Baltic Sea, with gusts of 27.2 metres per second (60.8 mph) recorded in the northern Baltic and 20 metres per second off Pori. Western regions of Finland are expected to bear the brunt of the storm, with power cuts possible once the weather system makes landfall.

Looks like Nodoom is right in the heart of it. But he's maybe better situated than most to weather it.

The one thing we have going for us are the mountains in Norway. Normally they buffer us somewhat from these monsters.
Normally... it doesn't mean always by any stretch. We could well be in for an interesting, if not mildly terrifying evening. uhoh.gif

hug.gif Morning sweetie.

That's not a bad place to be then, better than where storms get lively.

Batten down the hatches guys and stay safe. I too hope Nodoom has his hutch firmly planted in the ground for support.

I think NODOOM will be ok. I really hope he packed the gaps in his shack with mud and created some kind of geometric dome. A nice fire and warm bedding should suffice. At least he's far from the coast (I'm presuming).

I can see by your coat my friend you're from the other side. Just one thing I got to know. Who won?

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I am OK. The shack survived and I was not cold. I have built it strong and with no gaps. It looks crazy but it is adequate.

Hi everyone. That's great Nodoom considering the elements can get the better of a person.

I made the mistake of accepting a two day assignment at work, which entails a long drive and guess what? it's snowing heavily and will continue until midnight - so I was forced to book a hotel room within walking distance of work...wasted time and money. gaah.gif

With around twenty five million views for this wonderfully evocative rainy evening technicolor sequence from the best movie musical ever made (*=*)

Hi US wave.gif That sucks, but better safe than sorry I guess. It's no fun driving in heavy snow, especially if it's wet.

It sure sucks, but I will feel better after a nice dinner and wine with dinner at the hotel. wine.gif
