Oh great, bin Ladin's going to appear as my neighbor chuckle.gif

Oh yes there's a LOT of gas in BC, why Harper was here just days ago! But seriously, there are wells drilled and capped all over this province, drilled back in the early '80s hush hush pain of death to talk about but of course if you know people and talk about it, they are happy to. Shell drilled a whack of wells in the Chilcotin around Nehemiah valley and capped them and they going flat out West of Quesnel drilling. Go further North and estimates double?? blink.gif

They drilled and capped immediately. They're all over the Chilcotin. I have no idea how many, could be 20 could be 2,000.

I've thought for a long time that they are sitting on gas and oil in North America until the rest of the world's supply starts to dwindle and then they can be the new world supplier. Imagine the money they could make when all the up and coming Chinese middle class needs oil and gas. (China is expected to have well over 700 million middle class citizens over the next ten years or so. That is a LOT of buying power.)

Funny you should mention that. There's a quiet rumor going around that Shell plans a pipeline from Nehemiah Valley to the west coast. There's the Coast Range in between, but a flat and gentle access to (or near) Bella Coola somewhere around Knight Inlet. That's where it's rumored Shell pans to put the pipeline. Enbridge is trying to build a pipeline out through Prince Rupert but local and native opposition is winning. Apparently the Chinese set aside $2 billion (?) to build the P.Rupert pipeline but it doesn't look like it'll happen. So Knight Inlet may be it. That area is virtually unpopulated nor is it set aside for native use. There may be a few traplines in the million hectare area but that's it. I read China will have wage parity with the US in five years. blink.gif

This could make some people VERY rich if they were to invest a little cash.

If I invest in oil, I would essentially be doing business with politicians. That would make me akin to a lawyer...
