Its been cloudy here as well, but it did clear up enough for me to get my gear out and snap a pretty good image. Heres the link in case anyone wants to have a look. This was taken around 7.15pm in Blythe Georgia USA.

That's an awesome photo. What camera did you use?

We did see the moon rise on Saturday afternoon and it was majestic, but I didn't even have my cellphone with me to take snaps gaah.gif

I have a cheap Canon Powershot SX410 IS, $149 usd but the zoom is amazing, 40X Zoom and you can push it out to 180X zoom. Its great for still life stuff but not any good on action shots.

Well it's a great shot. You do need a good zoom for moon photos.

Good Moon Zoom.

When sizing the Moon up...
Use your thumbnail at arms length.

Is it coincidence that last night. I thought about Mooncakes?

They were fascinating as a child. They look like a delight in cartoons.

I had youtube my curiosity. I was not aware there are different types.

With you hand try to block out all foreground objects between you and the moon and or (seriously) stand on your head, or just hold your head as close to upside down as you can while standing up and then look at the moon and for some weird reasons, the moons strange size illusions suddenly goes away, maybe to do with something about our brains stereoscopic depth perceptions?
