Because I feel like it.
Taking Mental Health Day From Work

JR's asteroid thread's must have weighed heavily on my mind because my dream last night began with hubby and I witnessing NASA shooting at a huge cosmic body with what looked to be plasma weapons, Anyway, big chunks of it were sheared odd and hurtling down to Earth in our direction. So hubby and I lay down on the ground together to wait for the impact. I wanted to run away but he told me not to, and stay put, so I did. One big chunk whizzed by us and exploded far enough away so that the fallout debris sprinkled over us as beautiful ice crystals. We survived another one. There are so many different interpretations I can glean from that dream.
It is so nice to have some me time to even remember a dream and muse over it.

Wow! I never knew anything I've ever posted could actually have an impact like that.
Glad it all came out well in the dream.

I think one of my big life concerns is our Earth - our life-sustaining world - can be obliterated by one asteroid strike. It does weigh heavily on my mind at times.

It's sadly, one of those things that, as history proves, can and does happen. I had dreams of fireballs in the sky a couple of summers ago.
Figured out the best place to ride it out was a storm sewer drop manhole.
Bring your crowbar, those lids don't come off easy.
You'll also need it to get back out.

That's a great idea JR, but I don' think I'd want to come out for a while. I wonder what roasted rat tastes like?

Oh we don't have those here. You'd have to call in sick.

Oh, no, there is no official mental health day, that's my term for calling in sick for mental heath (balance of work/home - more home is required) purposes.
I just harvested most of my lovely Italian parsley and put the chopped up leaves and stems in an ice tray for freezing and Winter use...if it lasts that long.
Next, a food shopping expedition with my daughter.

we used to get 10 'personal days' a year where i worked.
when you called one in, they werent allowed to ask why and what and all that.
that was on top of our sick days. for those we would get paid but had to show dr note after.
i think other companies vary though but that is what it was where i worked.
Just Plain Nuts.

I work casually, so I don't get personal days.

That's very generous. Never heard of a company around here with that sort of deal going on
