we used to get 10 'personal days' a year where i worked.
when you called one in, they werent allowed to ask why and what and all that.
that was on top of our sick days. for those we would get paid but had to show dr note after.
i think other companies vary though but that is what it was where i worked.

Fridays and Mondays is my experience - then you must have worked in government or an offshoot institution with government ties, or in healthcare?

we had a union too, though it was an in-house one.
when i moved to that dept i had alot of trouble with what it was all about.
before i was in other depts where the product was all finished so ou would just be packaging and such..
but there i would see all the hearts and stuff.. thousands and thousands of them every night.
it was disturbing to me.. and i had made up my mind to leave. i couldnt justify it to myself.. made me sad.
so that was a big part of me leaving.

I understand that and I too am shifting away from eating meat, such as eating a more Mediterranean diet. My favourite meal lately is sautéed cauliflower in tomatoes with fresh basil. It is surprisingly satisfying. I just bought some frozen falafel patties to try, so slowly but surely I hope to one day return to being a vegetarian.
I am ready to return to the rat race.
Could have used those a coupla times.
Should be the law of the land.
