we used to get 10 'personal days' a year where i worked.

when you called one in, they werent allowed to ask why and what and all that.

that was on top of our sick days. for those we would get paid but had to show dr note after.

i think other companies vary though but that is what it was where i worked.

I work casually, so I don't get personal days.

well yes thats why i said it would vary from place to place and job to job eh

Just Plain Nuts.

Fridays and Mondays is my experience - then you must have worked in government or an offshoot institution with government ties, or in healthcare?

Oh, a rich company catering to carnivores that can afford to give employees personal days. Interesting.

oh yeah. rich beyond.
we had a union too, though it was an in-house one.

when i moved to that dept i had alot of trouble with what it was all about.
before i was in other depts where the product was all finished so ou would just be packaging and such..

but there i would see all the hearts and stuff.. thousands and thousands of them every night.
it was disturbing to me.. and i had made up my mind to leave. i couldnt justify it to myself.. made me sad.
so that was a big part of me leaving.

Just Plain Nuts.

I understand that and I too am shifting away from eating meat, such as eating a more Mediterranean diet. My favourite meal lately is sautéed cauliflower in tomatoes with fresh basil. It is surprisingly satisfying. I just bought some frozen falafel patties to try, so slowly but surely I hope to one day return to being a vegetarian.

All-in-all, it was a good day. I also bought a replacement roasting pan because I loaned my pan to my sister and she uses it every day and has no intention of returning it...no matter. It is a huge pan and she is mating 20 pound lasagnes in it.

I am ready to return to the rat race.
