I have arrived at the place I have chosen for my camp. yay.gif

The ground is rather wet but not overly so. I have set up camp with a tent for now. There is plenty of wood around, so I hope to build something a little more solid over the next couple of days.

At the moment the sun is shining but it is a bit cold. I am going fishing soon. Let's see what I can catch for dinner besides a cold.

Lots to do so I won't hang around in here for too long.

All right man!

I turned myself to consider wisdom and madness and folly
The wise man’s eyes are in his head,
But the fool walks in darkness.
Yet I myself perceived
That the same event happens to them all.

Hey does he have a solar charge system?

If not that would come in handy on his next trip, hope he has extra batteries if not.

You need sunshine for solar power, don't think there's much of that in Scotland lately.

I think they're efficient enough these days to be able to charge a small device even during cloudy days. But of course you get what you pay for dunno.gif

True that, they don't need much light. I hope Nodoom has power, it's an interesting journey he's on.

get some esbit tablets (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hexamine_fuel_tablet). used them during my time at the military. they're great for everything involving fire (and rough weather).^^
they usually come in a metal stove.

use the original esbit only.

A trick we used when I was growing up and no electricity, we'd put a roll of toilet paper in a tobacco can (they were tin back then and perfect size) soak it with diesel and put it under the block heater of the truck, cover the hood with a blanket, the truck would always start even at -40. It would burn all night too. Crude but cheap and it works. It has to be very well ventilated, as in OUTSIDE, the fumes are toxic. Oh yeah, it should be lit too lol.

DAY 3 and 4

Well yesterday I spent the day getting the rest of my stuff up here. Did not catch anything worth eating while fishing. Couple of eels and a small Tench!

I have lot's of rechargeable batteries and even managed to get a new car battery up here. I have solar panels (small) But they seem to work OK.

Bloody cold last night! Today is a little cloudy but otherwise not a bad day.
