I actually wasn't kidding when I said my grand-uncle was a Nazi. Waffen-SS.

One of the nicest people you could ever meet. He believed that all he did was right, for god and country.

Such is the paradox today of modern law-enforcement. It is not a matter of "bad apples" but rather that the institution itself is a hive of tyranny.

So are you a bad person? No you're most likely not and I know there are plenty of cops that just do the job.

That's all I am saying.

A bad person? No.

Have I bashed in some kids face for the hell of it trying to get a conviction? You betcha. It was all for the greater good. No matter what I did, it was always for the greater good. I could shoot a pregnant woman in the face, and it was still to keep you safe.

Indeed. Hence, my divorce from law-enforcement.

No, it's plural of Latin illuminatus, "enlightened". If it sounds like something else in your language that's fine, but it's not a secret code ffs.

I didn't decide, the American people did. No matter what I did, I was justified. I was the law, and the law won.
