Documentary which explores the life of Aaron Swartz, an activist for social justice and political organising on the internet, and the circumstances that led to his early death.

This guy's story blows me away every time I read about it and him. Then this film came on the BBC today. I still think the ptb took him out. His personality was so pure. Never motivated by money and only interested in ensuring all information was available for all people. The bit at the end about how another kid found a way of detecting pancreatic cancer earlier because of the information Aaron made sure was available just sums it up.

I watched the video and wrote this brief summary

Aaron Swartz

Learned early in life how to question everything, and formulate his own answers. He had a keen sense of justice and a distaste for redundancy and waste. His motivation was to "Make the world a better place" It seems he scared the bejesus out of the authoritarians.
He wanted information to be accessible to everyone and got involved in a PACER project. Which involved court documents being downloaded to a free share type server.
Corporations saw him as a threat financially and to the power structure.
A sting operation (JSTOR) caught him downloading documents
The Secret Service and FBI began spooking him He was offered a plea deal
But declined to be labeled a "felon"
He basically called giant corporations thieves
He is indicted and while JSTOR drops charges against Aaron Federal prosecutors decide to make an example of him… Facing up to 35 years in prison and a one million dollar fine. (show trial) M.I.T is disinclined to show any support in Aarons case.
Meanwhile Aaron helped spearhead an anti SOPA movement, which worked.
He was "Found Dead" "They Say" he killed himself.
Died: January 11, 2013

I would say Rest in Peace Aaron but, I hope he is still fighting the good fight.
