Slept on a beach near Malaga last night. Pretty women parading on the beach by day and displaying the latest fashion trends by nite. Ah makes one smile.

But I am not here for the pretty girls or the beaches, thats gonna have to wait awhile.

So i have travelled the grand sum of 87 km today and find myself near a place called loja.

Damn difficult to get a ride in this country.

Oh well back to the road.

More later.

Hi Nodoom, if you are heading towards Granada, that is a large wine growing region, as well I'm sure there are hostels where you may get a helping hand and maybe some tips as to where to find work.

Sounds sweet, really.

I'm sure it has got its downsides,
but some people can only dream
about that kind of freedom ;)
Summertime 'n all.
An adventure to remember in safe, dry,
well-fed future...

cheers.gif

Me, I'm too old for hippie travel chuckle.gif
Require healthy meal, clean bed, private
shithouse these days.

Too old you say. Well I am 50 years old. I also long for a clean bed etc. It has been a while since I had any of those things we take for granted. Now they are only luxurys to me that I can dream about.

So the latest news. I find myself in the beutiful city of Granada. Surrounded by the Andalucian mountains.

I am trying to find some work that will at least give me the chance of a bed and meal, but thats not easy. The Spanish economy is currently in meltdown and the area is full of Bulgarian and Romanians seeking work.

Dont know how long I can hang around here for as money is non existent now. If nothing turns up here I will have to head over to the Cordoba region and see what is doing there. Failing all of this I wil have no choice than to find a way of returning to the UK: At least there I can become a burden of the British government and recieve social assistance. Not exactly what I would like to do but in desperate times one has to make desperate decisions.

More later.

Oh man, I'm sure it's a bad time to be looking for a job in Spain right now. sad2.gif

I really wish the best of luck to you. You don't sound too excited to get back to the UK.

I have not lived in the UK for so long time. I am not over excited by the dreary weather but hey at least I can get housing and a basic life from the government until I get back on my feet. I have never been one to sponge off the government but have always sought to be independent and resourscefull. Oh well we will have to see.

Hope you had a good weekend Octo.

Weekend was good, but strange. We had a friend with a virus on his laptop so he wanted our help. So we spent 5 hours there on Saturday and almost four hours yesterday getting rid of that nasty virus. The whole day yesterday was so surreal it was like an episode from Curb your enthusiasm. lmao.gif

chuckle.gif Some days are just plain strange for us, and it usually involves other people behaving strangely.
That day was relentless, one goofy thing right after another.

I almost went to Granada once...

Back in 1984. When I was in the Army. They told us to call our Parents and tell them we were going to war, but not to tell them when or where.

We got to the tarmac and loaded up to fly out and as soon as we boarded the plane, they called it off. It was already over.
