Good idea. Yeah things don't look too bright anywhere right now. At least not in that department.

"They"?

Umhh, last time I checked, every third song was still for the state and municipality.
On the dayjob, a wee bit less, but still - the taxman gets his.

We the people take care of us the people.
Too bad bureaucracy, corruption and "public private partnership" eats it up...

Over here, they quit the free-food-from-the-EU handout-spots just the other year...

I would kiss the ground of my homeland, the land that will house and feed me.

Hey Nodoom, if I were you I'd head for every men's mission along the way for a free meal and bed.

Unfortunately we dont have mens missions here so no meal or bed until I get welfare assistance.

Wow, that's tough. The only other place I can think of for immediate assistance are the churches.

I am informed about 10 days to 2 weeks.

So I have finaly arrived in this city called London. I feel like an ant in a forest.

I have registered with the governmental department dealing in welfare otherwise known as The department of social security. My attendance has been duly noted and I have been adde to the list of people claiming assistance. So I have become a statistic.

I ahve bben told that I will have to wait for 2 weeks before I can recieve any benefit as payment of benefit is made fortnightly in arrears.

Well at least I made it.

There are places I can go to get a sandwich but a bed is out of the question until I recieve payment of benefits. Plenty of bus shelters though.

Thanks again to all those who helped me to get here.

I will keep you informed of events. Hopeully I will soon be able to return to my usual self on here.

I'm quite stunned that 'a bed is out of the question'...are there no shelters for men there? That's crazy. Well, it can only get better for you once the cheques start arriving. BTW, where will they be sending the cheques?

Cheques aren't really used here anymore. They stopped using them in Finland back in the 80's and imagine things are similar in the UK. Any govt money goes straight into your bank account.

Oh right, but doesn't the bank require a permanent address for one to open an account?
