Just looking around at some news stories over the last year that I missed and came across this.

It will be interesting to those feline lovers here. Enjoy. cheers.gif

Secret life of the cat: What do our feline companions get up to?

Ever wondered what your cat spends its time doing when you're not around? Where do our purring pets go when they disappear through the cat flap? Armed with GPS tracking devices and micro-cameras, a team from BBC Two's Horizon programme in collaboration with the Royal Veterinary College set off to a Surrey village to find out.

Studying cats teaches you humility. They are noble and courageous and self centered and full of ego all at the same time. When man fell from grace, God took the parts of man that he no longer had a right to posses and gave it to the cat. That is why we feel closer to being whole when we are around them.

I will have more to add later.

It didn't surprise me that the females roamed less than the males, although there was the one female who roamed a larger distance but she was hunting.

I had one female who would not leave the backyard, another female that would not go far either - actually she would visit my neighbour and sleep on her dining room chair, and another female that would stay close to home to protect her territory. The two males we had roamed further where one was killed by a car and the other contracted feline aids by fighting with other male cats.

Once my son's female cat is spayed, hopefully in two weeks, I'll let her out to roam around - she is just itching to get out.
