Sissel was just going to take a picture of the moon ...
I thought that there was something wrong with the camera

Was it a meteor that landed on the moon in the same second that Sissel Kamsvåg took the picture?

Night Tour at Big country was eventful, for the image of the moon taken at 21 o'clock Wednesday night, showed something more than just the beautiful moon.

It was the strong, beautiful moon that made me take up the phone and snap a picture. But when I zoomed in on the image afterwards, I saw the glowing orb. I initially thought that there was something wrong with the camera, but then I saw online that it was a meteor swarm that had passed the moon. There were several further south in the county that had seen a bright light, says Sissel Kamsvåg.

Now she wonders if the image shows a meteor strikes the moon, as it also happened on May 17 last year when 1:40 pound large meteor hit the moon and made a powerful flash of light that could be seen without a telescope from Earth.

Life is like a penny, you can spend it on what you like, but you can ONLY spend it once.

Wow, that's pretty interesting... pop2.gif

Edit: unless it's snapped through a window and that's the reflection of a camera flash (but it doesn't look like it) 13.gif

Lots of strange things on & with the moon .
I just wrote it off as a intergalactic titanium docking ship with a hologram activity screen that sends mind control signals down to Earth. So that's no big deal to me.

It's not what it appears to be under..."normal" circumstances.

It's debated even under perfectly normal circumstances

Quote:The Moon illusion is an optical illusion which causes the Moon to appear larger near the horizon than it does higher up in the sky. This optical illusion also occurs with the Sun and star constellations. It has been known since ancient times and recorded by various cultures. The explanation of this illusion is still debated

Not seeing anything about this on any of the Astronomy sites I belong to. That's an awful big Flash one of the Big Telescopes would have caught that.

The only explanation I have for this was she was photographing the moon and happened to catch a Meteor entering the Earths Atmosphere at the same time.

Ive been out on my scopes many a night and saw a meteor zip thru the eyepiece. Freaky when it happens.

To think and believe that we are alone within this universe is egotistical insanity...

I mean theres been millions of flying saucer sightings and alien entity encounters and probably that many more never reported for fear of ridicule and denial...

And all tax funded nasa tells us they're looking for is microbial alien life like gimme a damn break...

For all we know nasa and the military and the government never stopped going to the moon over forty years ago...

Those two faced back stabbers just stopped telling us about it...
