You can smoke pretty much anywhere in South East Asia.

I have no problems with people smoking in bars, but get upset when someone lights a cigarette at the table next to me while I am having food in a restaurant, I like my food to taste like food, not like ashtray.

Thing is, if its a local, then I understand because they are born and raised in a third world country and don't know any better.

But its always the tourists who does this and they should know better, damn savages. raging_midget.gif

Big corporate industry tells you what you want to hear and you agree of course.

Most smokers I have ever met were big on giving up the habit.

But most fail because tobacco is more addictive than Alcohol.,

Why is that?

To make money!! At our expense of course. Pharmaceuticals today are much the same.
Do you know, the main drugs used for quitting smoking, are all partially owned by big tobacco.
So they make money if you smoke, or if you quit!!
Big tobacco is closely affiliated with big pharm so...
This is why they took such hard stand with the elecronic cigarettes, and tired to get them black balled.
They didn't own any part of it!! They were losing millions. So they made claims it was dangerous. They explode. Blah blah.
I think most major tobacco cos have all out out their version of vap since, but it's not as good since they cannot infringe on the original patent.

Japan began no smoking areas in the mid 2000s. Which is laughable. The no smoking section of the restaurant will be on the other side of a three foot high partition, about seven feet away.
I choke through half my meals.
I once was trying to get out of Osaka back to Tokyo, and the last trains were leaving be a use the typhoon was about to hit, and the bullet train would be shut down.
So in desperation, I booked a seat in a smoking car. As they are usually half full given there are twice as many. The no smoking cars sell out quickly. I have asthma... OK. Japan air is bad enough...
So I got my bentobox, and went to my seat. I'm next to a guy, and he lights up as I start to eat.
I had to go sit in between cars ifo the soda machine, with people hitting me in the head with soda cans every ten minutes.

It was great.

I think hk is starting to institute some no smoking areas, but I'd have to ask how that's going.
