wtf2.gif valley is full of smoke and winds are high. It's been quite hot for early May, 30C all week but this is bizarre. It could just be grass fires, neighbors burning off their fields but anyone who tries to burn off a field in this wind is just being malicious. Oy.

Has a grassy smell, different from woodsmoke. A grass fire damned.gif had them burn right up to 40' from my house.

Yes it is but it's been quite hot and dry here and if some clown thought it a good day to burn off a field... Jeez we've had to rescue my neighbor's horses from fields of burning grass because some ass thought to burn off his field and it got out of control.

Or a lightening strike dunno.gif

I hope everyone, animals and your homes will be OK.

You know Shadow, the thought of moving to another concrete jungle in B.C. is looking more appealing after learning that grass/forest fires on the rise there, as well as flooding and bear activity.

chuckle.gif The Okanagan is amazing but Kamloops isn't in it. Kamloops is semi desert and a lovely city, just beautiful. More affordable too lol.

I've actually been looking in Salmon Arm, which, so far, offers us (newbie seniors) everything we are looking for. So, at this point it's small towns that we're interested in, however, I'll give Kamloops the once over. Thank you Shadow.

+1.

That sort of thing happens around here in
the spring, too.
Quite explosive.
Although I've never seen one get out of hand.
(May have started a couple when we were kids...)
