Characters shouldn't be rewritten just to cast them in a different sexual light, that was never what Spider Man was about anyway. Never do I recall a sex scene in those comics, so why all the sudden is orientation even a factor?

Spidey was always hetrogeek, and torn between MJ and Gwen Stacy. Somehow for 50 years or so, that actually worked.

Why not just invent something new and different if they conclude it's necessary to appeal to whatever target audience?

Innovate rather than alter the existing alter ego.

Lets face it, most superheros wear boots with leotards, and some even wear their underwear on the outside of their pants. Seriously, how can you make 'em any gayer? beerbong.gif

It is kinda the same as the boy scout thing IMO.

It does not matter because it has nothing to do with Spiderman same as sexuality has nothing to do with the boy scouts.

My point is that sexuality does not matter anymore.

Stuff like this sets us back as a whole.

It is like Al Sharpton rewinding the past to stay relevant.

iagree.gif Our glorious leaders always divided us, that way the 95% never stops to contemplate the pyramid scheme and power structure of the 0.1% and the 4.99% who do their bidding - and keep us enslaved in a false reality.
95% us vs. 5% them... no wonder the little paranoid control freaks spy on us.
A big portion of us woke up and they are scared shitless. uhoh.gif

the real question for this pressing issue, is whether the gay spider man will outperform the straight spider man, obviously.

they gonna RUIN it!!!!

By now it's pretty well known that "The Amazing Spider-Man" star Andrew Garfield is something of an expert on his superhero alter ego. In fact, the 29-year-old actor feels so secure in his Spidey knowledge that he is now proposing to take the comic character — and his sexuality — in a whole new direction. And he wants "Fruitvale Station" star Michael B. Jordan to partake in his new vision.

Garfield has been a Spider-fan since he was a kid ... and perhaps now even more of one as an adult, as he surprised San Diego Comic-Con attendees in 2011 by showing up to ask a "fan question" of the "Spider-Man" panel wearing a makeshift Spidey costume that was about one step up from Underoos.

Garfield is so aware of the intricacies of the complicated "Spider-Man" mythology that he feels confident proposing a big change in Peter Parker's private life: a complete and total sexual makeover for ol' webhead — and a complete and total gender swap for who's arguably his most popular and enduring love interest, Mary Jane Watson.

Spiderman was always gay just ask the punisher. Next topic.
