Amazing! blink.gif

Fraser Smith, from Natchez, Mississippi, is a master woodcarver who tries to fool the eye with his intricate sculpting skills using a art technique called trompe l'oeil.

He's made almost an entire wardrobe including bomber jackets, leather jackets, quilts, baseball caps and basketball shirts.

His work is very impressive and I can tell he's a master woodcarver. I particularly like the hanging quilt pieces.

I took a woodcarving course way back in my 20s and bought a really good woodcarving tool set, which I still have. Again, maybe when I retire I'll get back into all these wonderful art projects that I have in my mind. I would like to carve wooden hair ornaments, broaches, pendants for hand macramed necklaces and sell them online.

That sounds like a great idea and an interesting hobby US. My Grandma's brother was a wood carver as well and made some cool artwork.

Really, what does he whittle? Did he mention anything? Whittling seems to me to be very intricate work.

Sure, I'm just experimenting with different medium right now. I just finished a class in how to use pastels - too messy, it gets everywhere. gaah.gif

I'm actually waiting for news of an art class I want to take, but they can't get enough people interested, so it keeps getting cancelled. It's using cubism to draw the human form...so much easier than studying anatomy in my mind. chuckle.gif
