Most ancient cultures say we either came from the sky or our creators did.
At any rate, sea creatures are true aliens by way of comparison to those on land, and goes to show the diverse possibilities for life in the universe are staggering.

I read a book years ago that theorized all the alien life visiting us originated from earth before becoming advanced enough to leave.
