Leave it to California legislators to get to the bottom...of your iced tea.

It turns out that plastic straws are so evil that THE Democrat majority leader of the California legislature wants to fine restaurants $1,000 and to jail its waiters and waitresses if they provide plastic straws without first being asked for them by the customer.

It's not clear if handing out four to a party of four would be four counts. Would each person at the table need to ask separately? Would the state that part of the law as a trap? One member of the party could ask and the waiter could respond by placing multiple straws on the table.

"Book 'em, Danno! No soup tip for you!"

But on the plus side, the world would enter a new state of shangri la once the rampant straw problem were gotten under control. For example, it has been shown that in one test restaurant, they haven't had a single beheading since the practice was put into place.

It's the reaction between the glass and plastic that's the real danger. I'm concerned you are misleading people.

What if they switched to the old paper straws?

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

chuckle.gif It's wonderful to see that the Honorable Ian Calderon of the great state of CA has taken time out of his busy day to leave a comment on this humble website to let us know about this hidden risk. Besides one of those damn straws could put your eye out.
