I saw the same thing in the Oklahoma panhandle years ago. Four feet of hail. It was still melting in the road side ditches months later.

that's so freaky!
Was that wintertime because it took so long to melt? yesterday's 1 to 2 metre hail storm took place where they normally have subtropical weather this time of year, It was mid 80's the day before the storm.
