I'd need only dry socks out of those. Hot water sure, but it doesn't need to be running.

I have lots of socks and when the socks i'm wearing are damp my whole body is colder but when the socks i'm wearing are soft and dry my whole body stays warmer...

Last week our hot water heater broke down when it was like zero degrees outside and it was holy hell nearly impossible to clean myself without hot running water as well as making hot coffee and other things not able to be done...

I say it often around here that we couldnt have a normally functioning kitchen without paper towels for all sorts of reasons...

Dry socks are of utmost importance in my life because I just cannot tolerate a smidgeon of wet on my feet. I treat my feet very nice indeed.

As for washing in cool water - I do so often lately, since my son moved in, and his girlfriend spends lots of time here too using up all the hot water. gaah.gif

I once gave up paper towels and used only rags that I made from old towels. It worked out just fine, but everyone else here likes the throw away convenience of paper towels...oh well.

most people heat their water for coffee using some other source, like maybe a coffee machine. you do realize you can put cold water in a coffee machine and when it is done the water is hot, right?? chuckle.giflmao.gif

In emergencies you can pour gasoline on your dirty socks and heat water on that.

If everyone on the planet required paper towels, we could deforest the entire planet in a few months. coffeetime.gif

An old woman told me once that "life is what goes on between your mouth and your ass"

She was actually the consumer ombudsman here in town. Awesome lady.
