seems alot of ppl are boycotting tim horton's.....

'For the very few who have missed it: Timmys caved in to some online pressure and cancelled one of the TV ads they run in some of their stores in Alberta. It was an ad by Enbridge —...' :

'But now, Tim Hortons, it has finally happened. Finally you flew too close to the sun, your honey-glazed wings melted, and down you plummeted into the sea, arms flapping uselessly against the inevitable. ' :

The entire article reads like a eulogy to Enbridge. A dirtier company I don't know.

Quote:For so long, we saw Tims as a rock-solid, friend of the common man, iconic Canadian company. In this new mode it effectively announced it was joining the likes of the yuppie tree-hugger cosmetic companies, or the hippie tycoons Ben & Jerry’s, who mix their merchandise with a sacksful of eco-preachiness and save-the-earth sanctimony.

Check this out.

İmage

In their propagandizing (and as reported by national news) Enbridge decided to remove all the islands in Douglas Channel to make it look like their tankers would have a clear run to the Pacific so no danger of capsizing on their way to take crude bitumen to be refined in foreign countries. How about a refinery and jobs here?

Speaking of jobs, they claim the pipeline to Kitimat would create hundreds of permanent jobs, in reality they bring in workers from all over the world then they leave to the next project and long term employment is estimated to be 13.

"Save the Earth Sanctimony" is what the NP calls objecting to this? ğck YOU ENBRIDGE! and ğck YOU rex murphy you p.o.s.

Yeah!

How many cups of coffee do Enbridge workers drink compared to those that are concerned about our environment and climate change? Me thinks the tree huggers win.

Hmm, may be not...tree huggers boycott Tim Horton's for using tiger-killing palm oil.

Quote:As the SumOfUs petition notes in an update, however, a just-proposed $12.5 billion acquisition of Tim Hortons by Burger King, the global hamburger company, has complicated efforts to convince Tim Hortons to stop using certain palm oil.

SumOfUs describes Burger King as “a mega-corporation with an appalling record of using tiger-killing palm oil.”

“If BK gets its way, Tim Hortons may never agree to source sustainable palm oil,” the petition warns. “But if enough of us come together now we can convince Tim Hortons to commit to strong palm oil policies while the ink on the merger deal is still drying.”

SumOfUs ... don't give them your email or sign their petitions unless you want 8 or 10 requests for $upport every day.

Besides, it's a incredible waste of money to go buy a cup of coffee in the morning from some place with shitloads of people, in the freaking MORNING ffs, when you can pay a relatively low price for a coffee machine and pimp your own coffee in peace and quiet after you roll out of bed.
