you go for a walk/drive outside and many of the people you see are overweight? I dont know what happened to this country, we used to be a nation of strong and sensible people. a lot of people i see now seem to be overweight and/or followers of trends. I am not even kidding I swear that like 50% of the people I saw today were overweight. I'm not even trying to be disrespectful or rude, just pointing out what I see in this country today. I do feel bad for their situation because I know some of them must be embarrassed about their body image, but how do people get so fat and not do anything before that point to stop themselves?

I look at it this way, if there's ever a Zombie Apocalypse they will be like a buffer zone between me and the Zombies.

On a serious note: I believe a lot of this is due to Garbage in our food. Almost everything on the grocery store shelves has been perverted beyond recognition by additives and synthesized chemicals. Until we stand up and do battle with the Food Manufacturers and boycott them until they make the changes we want, obesity and poor health will continue.

I'm not saying its the total cause of the problem, buts a good place to start.

Another area that needs looking into is the relationship between Depression and Obesity. I recently read an article that said 38% of Americans were on some sort of Anti-depressant. That's a whopping 1 in 3 !

The sad part of the situation is Corporations are profiting from this epidemic of Obesity. Its all one big interconnected game. Just follow the money trail.

I think it's the same area actually. I think highly refined food, especially sugar laden (including grains that turn into sugar when you chew it) cause bad things to happen in our body. It's causing overgrowth of bad gut bacteria and considering 80% of our immune system resides in our gut it's obviously a really bad idea. People are whacked out because of bad diets and antidepressants won't help.

Ok, I'm not American, but we have fat people here too. I feel a bit sad when I see young fat people, their parents should know better. slap.gif

It's all in diet. The food pyramid is upside down. It's based on a diet that pretends we evolved from horses. blink.gif

Forget 9-11, it's 7-11 that's wrecking the country.

Just waiting to get their fix eh? Couldn't have prepared a meal for themselves? That's just sad but it's their choice so it's hard to feel too bad for them.

Cmon man, what should make us angry , now I'm speaking in a historical sense, is the fact that the most intelligent, most industrious, toughest people that this planet has ever known , have be reduced to quivering masses of jelly , hypnotized and mesmerized by the sorcerers in Hollywood under the direction of the[/u] Rothschild family. Simple facts , pack your sacks, watch tv, it shows you what you lack.

I agree with you. I think one of the best decisions I ever made in my life was to sell my TV. I feel like such a more active and smarter person ever since I got rid of my TV. I spend a lot more time out in nature and I seem to notice animals more, including the smallest ones. I would't trade the life I have now back for the life I had when I watched TV. I feel like life is simply too short to spend my time doing passive activities, other than eating or sleeping and such.

Check out what this guy has to say. He explains why we are addicted. It's a simpler answer and a different answer than you might think. He also offers a solution.
