that much of Japan will need to be abandoned. Once Fukushima blows its top, some of the other nuclear reactors will also need to be abandoned as well. So there will be even more nuclear facilities blowing up.
The owners of Fukushima Daiichi plan to remove the 1,300 damaged fuel rods manually starting in November or thereabouts, a project that is doomed to fail. One mistake will result in a chain reaction.
No worker directly involved will be able to work more than a few hours. So there will be thousands of highly inexperienced workers trying to do something that has never been done before - and the effing fuel rods are most likely stuck together from excess heat and corrosion from saltwater!
No, Japan is isn't going to be getting an economic boost from the Olympics. It's a pipe dream.
