Trump signals support for states deciding if pot is legal

Quote:President Donald Trump said Friday that he was inclined to support a bipartisan effort in Congress to ease the U.S. ban on marijuana...

Quote:The proposal introduced Thursday has support from members of Congress from both parties, including Republican U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado.

"I support Senator Gardner. I know exactly what he's doing," Trump told reporters in Washington, when asked about the legislation. "We're looking at it. But I probably will end up supporting that, yes."

What does easing the ban mean? Where is the word 'legalization'?

The only thing it means is that states can do as they want in terms of yes or no, it's still illegal at the federal level.

blink.gif SO does this mean someone crossing from BC into Washington State could get busted at the border with herb even though it's legal in BC and Washington State because border crossings are a Federal matter?
Bet this bill doesn't address it, but seriously, how's that gonna' work?

Hey JR, the same applies to Canadians crossing the U.S. border. We will be arrested and have criminal records in the U.S. and never be allowed to cross the border again. Mind boggling.

That is correct and it absolutely should be addressed. If traveling from legal country to legal state there should never be anything more than a small tax or fee for bringing it in.

crazy.gif That's stupid, but some places in Europe still happily enforce draconian laws when it comes to this. :/

That's the thing, if I travel from legal Canada to a legal state, I will still be arrested because on a federal level it is still illegal.

Yes. It is the same excuse employers are using to give drug screens and to test you after and workplace accident.
