This week fulfillment of the following became more obvious.
“I am going to make Jerusalem a cup of trembling
before all the surrounding nations. …….
I will set Jerusalem as a weighty stone to all the peoples.
all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces,
though all the nations of the earth be gathered together against it.
How can one not see the fulfillment ?
Did it ever occur to you that in this case the word "Jerusalem" is used symbolically to represent the pure soul and that no matter what is arrayed against a pure soul, nothing can conquer it? Obviously not.
How can we be sure my interpretation is the correct one while literal ones are not correct? Because any true message from God is timeless. Any literal interpretation - as opposed to a symbolic one - is dependent on external events. God probably doesn't do his work based on rare external events.
To God such an eternal event would be a blip on an screen, a flash in the pan. Our Creator would not waste his 'time' bothering with messages about such ephemeral vapors.
His messages are eternal and eternally present. What may or may not being going on in Israel in 2017 fails to meet that test.
Waiting around for something to happen in Israel as a sign from God is a tremendous waste of time. If you want to see a real sign from God, examine a blade of grass using God's eyes and God's heart.
Alfred Tennyson might have said it best:
Flower in the Cranny
Flower in the crannied wall,
I pluck you out the crannies,
I hold you here, root and all, in my hand,
Little flower – but ‘if’ I could understand
What you are, root and all, and all in all,
I should know what God and man is
Do what Tennyson suggests we do, and free yourself from anxious wait of looking for God in all the wrong places.
