Supporters of Turkey's Erdogan claim victory in referendum vote to give him more power

The results from Sunday's vote are expected to have a huge effect on Turkey's long-term political future and on its relations with the European Union and the world.

Anadolu said 51.4 percent voted "yes" and backed the constitutional changes to replace Turkey's parliamentary system with a presidential vote, with 48.6 percent voting "no" against them.

What are the consequences? I'm sure it's in the news but I just had a huge dinner and can't do anything right now.

Giving all power in a nation to one person has always ended in horrible results.

Something tells me the Kurds aren't going to like this very much. The Kurds and Turkey have actually been working pretty well together to fight ISIS. I can't help but believe Turkey will now go back to aiding ISIS and attacking the Kurds.

Europe can also look forward to masses of "refugees" invading.... I mean "migrating" from Turkey.

What politics from both sides wants to teach us is that things are never complex. If you have your little package and something doesn't fit into that package, You don't know what to make of it so you want to dismiss it or then you will have to do the work of reconsidering your assumptions. - Michael Malice
