WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States on Thursday urged U.S. citizens to leave Syria immediately, saying the government's violent crackdown on peaceful protests had led to an uncertain and volatile situation.

"The U.S. Department of State urges U.S. citizens in Syria to depart immediately while commercial transportation is available," the department said in a warning notice, adding future plans by U.S. citizens to travel to Syria should be deferred.

The State Department had ordered eligible family members of U.S. government employees and certain non-emergency embassy personnel to leave Syria in April.

If the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem better be a nail. I really respect Clark for telling the truth.

This really freaks me out. If they go after Syria all unholy hell will break. Between the economy, Obama's ridiculous jobs plan, unemployment, poverty, foreclosures all at record all time highs, they may just see war as a great or only alternative to collapse.

hmm.gif If memory serves, Iran and Syria have a mutual defense pact. If this isn't the beginning of WW III, I don't know what is.
That's always the POO solution for POO created economic depression.
This is going to get really nasty, and Americans certainly wont back another war. I guess Obama was designed to be a one term president.

After the Colonel of that desert, oil and aquifer land was taken care of, Syria was always next for some kinetic Action, Look for some Fireworks soon. As to Americans not standing for another war (give me a break, most have no ğkking idea whats going on, they just want a job, food &shelter at this point), A nation build on theft and genocide of its native people have continuously been at war. Nation State Empires are not negotiators except among their whitey friends when the spoils of war are split.

Russia has been trying to negotiate between the warring factions in Syria, perhaps this seems to be working which is forcing the hand of US lead NATO to act even more aggressively.

In related news the Industrial military complex just sold a$53 million weapons contract with the wonderful freedom loving regime in Bahrain.
