Hotel mystery: 3 found dead in same room in less than 2 months

North Carolina police are trying to piece together a bizarre series of events after three people were found dead in the same Best Western hotel room in less than two months.

Authorities in Boone say an 11-year-old boy, Jeffrey Lee Williams, was found dead Saturday in a room at the Best Western, and his mother, 49-year-old Jeannie Williams, was in a coma, NBC Charlotte reports.

Pastor Scott Davis of Northside Baptist Church in Rock Hill, S.C., where the Williams’ are from, said they were visiting Boone on a family vacation.

Boone Police Sgt. Shane Robbins told NBC Charlotte that on April 16, an elderly couple was found dead in the same room, but authorities don’t see any connection yet to the Williams death.

Both cases are still under investigation, Robbins said, adding that there did not appear to be any violence involved in the Williams death

You would think they would have discovered that in the autopsy of the old couple, and that the motel would get sued.

With the mother in a coma now, still alive, they must be treating her for something that put her in that condition.

The fact that the dead victims were either small or elderly does lend to this theory though, as a healthy adult would be the least likely to die from the exposure and be able to recover.
