Quote:US 'foils new underwear bomb plot' by al-Qaeda in Yemen

The US has foiled a plot by al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula to detonate an upgraded version of the failed 2009 "underwear bomb", US officials say.

The alleged device was seized in the Middle East after a CIA operation in Yemen and is being studied by the FBI.

Reports say no target had been chosen and no plane tickets purchased by the time the alleged plot was foiled.

Officials say there was never any risk to the public. It is not clear what has happened to the would-be bomber.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-17985709

U.S. and Yemeni officials say the supposed would-be bomber at the heart of an al-Qaida airliner plot was actually an informant working for the CIA.

The revelation, first reported by The Los Angeles Times, shows how the CIA was able to get its hands on a sophisticated underwear bomb well before an attack was set in motion.

lol.gif I didn't even see your post when I posted. cheers.gif I'm sure this is not going to sit will with the public, or bolster BO's reelection chances. Americans have a very dim view on false flag operations. I think most know the original underwear bomber was put there by an alphabet agency.
I've been to Schiphol airport, nobody gets on a plane without a passport under normal circumstances.

Hey, maybe we could market a line of underwear, call it 'don't sheik your drawers' or something. Give the NSA something to do.
