A few hours ago my dad unexpectedly collapsed at home. He was revived and taken to hospital. They're examining him right now trying to figure out what happened. He's still unconscious and doesn't breathe by himself.
It doesn't look good they say. tissueguy.gif

Please I need all the healing vibes his way. His name is Leo.

Thank you all hug.gif

Yes it's a difficult time and I appreciate your support.

As for pre-existing conditions he had some heart trouble, nothing serious, but he's on blood thinners which has concerned us. He also has a low blood pressure, but other than that he's so far been pretty strong and healthy.

Do you know if he hit his head when he fell?

Sounds like maybe he had a stroke?

The symptoms of low blood pressure include lightheadedness, dizziness, and fainting. These symptoms are most prominent when individuals go from the lying or sitting position to the standing position (orthostatic hypotension).

Low blood pressure that causes an inadequate flow of blood to the body's organs can cause strokes, heart attacks, and kidney failure. It's most severe form is shock.

Common causes of low blood pressure include a reduced volume of blood, heart disease, and medications.

I hope he comes out of it but if it was bad one he will likely need some rehab :(again I can't express how sorry I am.)

I shall hope for the best (would say pray but that word is typically associated with a singular meaning IE: praying to God or Jesus ...God is in us ...is us ...recognize the divine power in ourselves and use it!)

I recently had to move in with my Grandma who is 87 with macular and suffering from dementia... it has recently gotten so bad that she thinks her neighbor is trying to kill her and her cat by gassing her simply cause she is having some eye discomfort and think he hates her cat cause she thinks Georgie(cat) sprayed him... I have to constantly remind her that skunks spray people not cats!

Anyways I am constantly on edge that she could go at any moment and falling is a big issue. She fell once already grabbing for a rail that wasn't there on a step down on a neighbors deck, She also is insistent on putting her favorite chicken run on her kitchen floor which has no backing anymore cause she keeps throwing it in the wash and will slip out from under her if she starts lose any balance whatsoever ...not sure if my situation story helps at all but I thought I would share it anyways.

Thank you so much everyone grouphug.gif

I just talked to my brother. My dad is still in ICU but breathing on his own. They're keeping him in an induced coma over night so they can reduce the body temperature so that the brain won't require as much oxygen. As long as he was resuscitated there's a real risk of brain damage. But as my brother as well as my sister are or were paramedics they know how vital first response is and it was flawless. My mom started CPR, called the emergency number. The ambulances were there in 2 minutes. If you survive the first two hours it's a good thing.

The CT scan came out clean so it's not brain related. They suspect a small blood clot in his heart, but some more tests will be done. He's not out of the woods yet, but looking a little brighter.
