It serves another purpose too, that Obama ostensibly backs democracy in the ME and isn't Netenyahu's boot licker. Yet as always, he serves his owners. ğkking fence post turtle.

The US is pushing the UN to authorise not just a no-fly zone over Libya, but also the use of air strikes to stop the advance of forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi.

facepalm_panda.gif I certainly don't want to jump on that bandwagon, there are plenty of daily affirmation forums where people can get together and discuss their mutual group hate for Muslims and pat each other on the back. sad2.gif

Read the other day:
Islam isn't the US's problem, Islamaphobia is.

And I cracked a beer for who said that. drinking.gif

The UN Security Council has backed a resolution that supports military action in Libya.

US ambassador Susan Rice said: "This council's purpose is clear - to protect innocent civilians."

"Col Gaddafi, and those who still stand by him, continue to grossly and systematically abuse the most-fundamental human rights of Libya's people."

They're getting ready to strike.

The British and French, along with some Arab allies, are expected to play a leading role in any initial air strikes.

French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said everything was ready to launch military strikes in Libya.

British Prime Minister David Cameron said Col Gaddafi would be judged by "actions, not his words", and that British Tornado and Typhoon aircraft were being moved to bases in the region.

The US Navy is deploying additional warships to the Mediterranean to support possible military action.

Other countries that could take part in any military action include Denmark, Canada, Spain, Belgium, Norway and Qatar. Italy has offered the use of air bases.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is travelling to Paris on Saturday to join allies in discussing the next steps in Libya

sad2.gif I watched a vid with exactly that happening, a Gaddafi tank ran over a car with people in it. sad2.gif

Libya is going to be Iraq all over again, UN going in to 'liberate' people of their lives and resources, a corporate friendly puppet gov will be installed, the oil fields taken, infrastructure blown to shït, Libyans themselves far far worse off than under Gaddafi, they will be the new terrorists, Jihadists, and of course oil will skyrocket destroying economies around the world. The neocons couldn't care less about Libyans or Americans, or _______ (fill in the blank) but the 'religious right' brainless dead will continue their isalmophobic rants about how the Libyans want to destroy them, their way of life, put burquas on their wives and sharia in their courtrooms. Dumb fucks are their own worst enemy.

That sounded as if it could have been a transcription from a neocon think tank session, I'm certain these words and the actual words could not be all that different. damned.gif TPTB may be unsettling to some, but.. as I've stated a number of times, once you have their number, predicting their course of action is a piece of cake.
