US begins assault against Libyan air defenses

WASHINGTON – The U.S. military attacked Moammar Gadhafi's air defenses Saturday with strikes along the Libyan coast that were launched by Navy vessels in the Mediterranean.

A senior military official said the assault would unfold in stages and target air defense installations around Tripoli, the capital, and a coastal area south of Benghazi. That's the rebel stronghold under attack by Moammar Gadhafi's forces.

~~~~~~~~~~~~`PEOPLE IN REBELLION~~~~~~~~~
Here are a few points i pondered
1. 1776, rebels with GUNS attempt overthrow of King George's rule of the Colonies
King George sends out troops to combat the rebels
Other countries leave it alone
2. Rebels in Iraq attempt to drive out U.S. Troops
U.S. press refers to the Rebels as Insurgents
3. Rebels in the U.S. rebel against a Nazi Regime disguised as a Democratic Society
These Rebels are referred to as a " THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY"
4. Excuse for NATO airwar on Kaddafi?
He uses troops to put down an ARMED rebellion, which is a threat to Libya's National security.
Claims that he is killing his own people
airstrikes by Nato,,,, have KILLED His People
more of his people then were killed in an attempt to squash the C.I.A. instigated riots.
Arab league, leader already condemning the bombings strategy. What in Allah did he expect?
Than they were going to drop food parcels and strongly worded letter's.
If the arab league is so concerned with the bombing campaign, why don't they tell US/UK/France el tel, to stop we'll bomb the Libyans the RIGHT way. Put up or shut up. Don't vote for something, if you know civilians are going to be killed. Bombs don't discriminate.
Might add that the leader of the arab league will be running for new president of Egypt. All these guys got elections coming up soon.
Not that I support "operation Odyssey Dawn", can't bomb the shit out of people without a funky code name.
Russians have also regretted their decision, and worried about the way the no fly zone is being conducted.
I give it a month or so, some "shit storm" will occur that will lead to Foreign boots on the ground.
So the US can built another Billion Dollar Embassy, with torture cells, so they can continue with rendition flights of supposed "terrorists.
Along the same lines, I read this earlier and found it interesting:
Quote:Libya: Another War, Another Pack of Lies
The corporate-financiers are dangerously flirting with their entire official narrative collapsing, as their progressive, Peace-Prize wearing puppet President Obama and the "radical reformer" David Cameron lead yet another war based on an Iraq-style pack of lies.
After weeks of peddling a litany of verifiable lies, the West has forgone any attempt to justify or veil their actions in legitimacy and has decided to go ahead with a UN rubber-stamped "no-fly zone." Far from having anything to do with preventing Qaddafi's planes from flying, the no-fly zone has translated into full-scale missile and aerial bombardments across Libya aimed at turning the tide for freshly rearmed Western-backed rebels.
The pack of lies.
Indeed, the same London Telegraph now dashing across their headlines "Britain and America have rained missiles on Libya as Col Muammar Gaddafi defied the world and continued to attack civilians," told us in the early stages of the US-backed Libyan unrest that Qaddafi had fled to Venezuela, citing "credible Western intelligence sources."
Of course, evidence that Qaddafi has been "attacking civilians" has not yet been produced in any shape form or way with US Department of Defense's Robert Gates and Admiral Mullen in fact, both confirming "We’ve seen no confirmation whatsoever." Additionally, BBC made an apparently little read footnote that their reports were impossible to verify.
BBC states in their article "The difficulty of reporting from inside Libya:" "The BBC and other news organisations are relying on those on the ground to tell us what's happening. Their phone accounts - often accompanied by the sound or gunfire and mortars - are vivid. However, inevitably, it means we cannot independently verify the accounts coming out of Libya. That's why we don't present such accounts as "fact" - they are "claims" or "allegations"."
Here's an interesting twist...
U.S.-led attack on Libya may force rebels to join forces with Gaddafi - expert
The expert said that the air strikes were destroying civilian and economic facilities and the declared goals of creating a no-fly zone over Libya ran counter to the U.S.-led coalition's real actions.
"The American and French military who have attacked Libyan sites are treading on a very dangerous line beyond which irreversible consequences may start and cause large-scale combat operations," the expert said.
Seems like in one day the coalition forces have killed and injured more civilians than Gaddafi did in 3 weeks. Now they have a common enemy, both Gaddafi and the rebels must, they must be aware of the consequences of US intervention.
same everywhere else
Justification for invasions lately seem to always be: THAT FUCKER IS A HITLER THAT KILLS HIS OWN PEOPLE
THEN: the World SWIPE FORCE invades
kills tens of thousands
and smiles in your face about it.
Meanwhile,,, the populace of the invaders
ignore their complicity via their REFUSAL to attempt any course of action in order to at the least
VOICE opposition to the Heinous Carnage their PENTAGON COMMITS.
Would i fight for my Country?
what Country?
The United States ?
By Country, do you mean,,, the Marshmallow People of this world
Again, i ask, define the term, COUNTRY?
Is the U.S. a country?
where'd people get that Idea?
U.S.,,,,, is "NOT" a Country
it is a Pirate Strong hold man.
Quote:One of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's sons died in a Tripoli hospital of suffering severe burn wounds, a German website reported on Monday.
Khamis, aged 32 and Gaddafi's sixth son, was allegedly injured on Saturday when a Libyan Air Force pilot deliberately ploughed his jet into a compound in Tripoli where Gaddafi and some of his family were staying, the Deutsch-Tuerkische Nachrichten said.
I'm surprised thy haven't bought a pack of playing cards with Gaddafi family and friends on it. Can't believe looking back that Bush did that in Iraq. No shame.
