Associated Press= ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam (AP) — Dead mice laced with painkillers are about to rain down on Guam's jungle canopy. They are scientists' prescription for a headache that has caused the tiny U.S. territory misery for more than 60 years: the brown tree snake.

Most of Guam's native bird species are extinct because of the snake, which reached the island's thick jungles by hitching rides from the South Pacific on U.S. military ships shortly after World War II. There may be 2 million of the reptiles on Guam now, decimating wildlife, biting residents and even knocking out electricity by slithering onto power lines.

It probably is dunno.gif sounds like the snakes are causing real problems though.

from wiki

Quote:Currently, the brown tree snake population on Guam is declining with an equilibrium population size predicted to be roughly 30 to 50 snakes per hectare.

This is a good application for a robot snake killer.

There is only one snakelike creature.

Bring on the Termisnakor.

That's the stupidest ğkking thing I've ever heard of.

Now the island will be over run by "Toxic Mice". Dumbasses. Who's bright idea was that?

If they want to cure the snake population, do what they did in Hawaii.

Introduce Mongoose.

Read the article.

The mice are loaded with acetaminophen. If a mammal eats them it will just cure a headache if they have one.

When you play God and create a new species, which is what they did when they altered the Mice's DNA,... shït happens and things tend to mutate over generations...and go bad....

The mice are dead according to the article - I don't believe the acetaminophen is harming them...

Apparently the brown snakes are scavengers (they eat dead things) as well as eating live prey.

Dead mice with streamers. If nothing else it might surprise the hell out of a few snakes.

Acetaminophen is toxic in high doses for both cats and dogs so I imagine it's not good for most animals.
