Vermont could be about to legalise marijuana – and become first US state to do so without public vote

Quote:Vermont lawmakers on Wednesday approved a measure to legalise recreational use of marijuana, which if not vetoed by the governor would make the state the ninth to legalise the drug and the first to do so by legislation rather than ballot initiative.

The U.S. state's House of Representatives voted 79-66 for the measure, which was attached to a bill increasing penalties for the possession and sale of the opioid drug fentanyl. The measure, which would take effect in July 2018 and allow adults 21 and over to buy and use the drug, was passed by the state Senate last week in a 20-9 vote.

It's nice to see one by one States allowing recreational use, and personally never having to listen to some holier than thou morons attempt to marginalize others for simple use is way overdue.

hmm.gif That would make 10 States legal for recreational use? 1/5th of the US?

Good, then I can cross at the Ontario/Vermont border and not be charged for DUI.  yay.gif

All those other ways of getting over the U.S. border can now be put to rest.

I may be out of line here, but I would sure suggest forgetting that ramp trick as an option.  chuckle.gif
I was just telling Octo that would make it easy to cross the border, heck you could even bring a few grams with you.

It's hard to imagine, isn't it?

Good God, you have some beautiful states.

Except the feds don't care what the states think and that would make her an international drug smuggler.

The story is a bit misleading. Those hippies in Vermont have been trying to legalize for a long time.

Why should they go out to fight?

Correct, the FEDS will nail you at the border and cite Federal law.

I know of no other vegetable or greenery
easier to cultivate your sweet self. They don't
call it "weed" for nothing. You don't need wizardly
green thumbs to succeed and get results.

Any old bucket, dirt, water, last year's seed, sunshine.
Birch wood ash feeds bud growth as good as any
chemical/eco fert you buy in a store.

All you need is a roughly South facing window,
balcony, flower bed strip, whathaveyou...doable smack
dab downtown tenament style doobie.gif

Just what is the giganormous plobrem?
