I think I might avoid this thread for now on. All this fantasy talk is gonna make me throw down the glove of logic and hurt some feelings...

People need to quit letting themselves be brainwashed by fairy tales. Quit picking and choosing parts of the Bible to read and read the entire thing. Study it. Take notes. Open your eyes to the nonsense it says. Spend some time thinking about the topic. Don't just follow blindly.

And now I will go before I really get started...

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to poor

gluttony : is a sin that 96% of americans perform every day

illicit desire : is a sin 98% of humans perform daily ; they either desire other people's wives, and girlfriends and other people's possessions

then there is greed, colleric anger, swearing, lying, cheating, boastfulness, debauchery and all the ancillary sins that go with these
but mainly sexual sins are the downfall of every human being

We are naturally sexual beings, so one needs to ask if one believes in God, why did she/he make us this way so that some of us have no choice but to allegedly sin?

yes, I know what you mean
I wish I was born under the rule of the Old Testament God Yahweh instead of the current New Testament God Jesus.
Yahweh was more sexually tolerant. The OT Bible is full of tantalising sex stories with men allowed to have many wives and kings like David and Solomon allowed and encouraged to have many lovers and concubines.
Yahweh even exported the Israelites to go into battle against other people and take their women as sex slaves.
But Jesus was and still is much more puritanical.
Jesus was a total virgin and never had sex so he wants our priests and nuns to be totally celibate and never have even the slightest sex experience, not even wet dreams, and must be confessed straight away to wash away the stains of the sins.

i take the sex issue very seriously and I even flagellate myself on the back after illicit sex, for penance.

Does the flagellation turn you on?

Catholic - Remove the fig leaf (sexuality without shame), that is a good place to start, then reconcile yourself as being God's creation just the way you are.

well, it does actually, and that makes it a vicious circle because the arousal from the flagellation required for further flagellation to expiate the latest sin

The circle can be broken by just accepting and loving yourself. The guilt is a programming tactic for control.

you are right!!
guilt sucks
it spoils the pleasure of everything
especially if you start experiencing the guilt while you are doing the sin...it's a bit of an anticlimax in a way.

but after i take myself to the privacy of the confessional booth every Friday evening and spill the beans so to speak, as soon as I am given the absolution and the penance, I immediacy feel relived and ready to go and sin again afresh..
yes it is a vicious circle.

Does anyone here have any idea of temperatures that we can withstand for eternity?
They say that God will not burden us with more than we can endure.
Would you think that a constant 100 deg F is ok? ( 37 deg C )??

any more than that and we will die
but God wants to keep us alive for eternity
Maybe 90 deg???
Earth is hell...and without our costumes and masks of delusional denial...that we depend upon and love so much to wear and display for ourselves and eachother...now what are we going to think and do about that too terrible for most people to face horrible truth?!...the damned and condemned souls that we are...so eternally tortured by perpetual pain and disease and war and genocide while trapped within corruptible and punishable flesh...and maybe forever...thanx to endless reincarnations...within this demonic alien enslaved greed driven world of diabolical illusions...our souls not necesarily captured inside the biblical version of hell...but for lack of a better word...hell is way more than a perfectly sinister description of where we have been hopelessly and helplessly hurled and imprisoned...and maybe forever...broken crushed tormented wandering lost within an endless holographic void...with no escape...with no way to get away...with nowhere else for us to go...and not even death will release us...and maybe forever...
