yes, I know what you mean
I wish I was born under the rule of the Old Testament God Yahweh instead of the current New Testament God Jesus.
Yahweh was more sexually tolerant. The OT Bible is full of tantalising sex stories with men allowed to have many wives and kings like David and Solomon allowed and encouraged to have many lovers and concubines.
Yahweh even exported the Israelites to go into battle against other people and take their women as sex slaves.
But Jesus was and still is much more puritanical.
Jesus was a total virgin and never had sex so he wants our priests and nuns to be totally celibate and never have even the slightest sex experience, not even wet dreams, and must be confessed straight away to wash away the stains of the sins.
i take the sex issue very seriously and I even flagellate myself on the back after illicit sex, for penance.
Does the flagellation turn you on?
well, it does actually, and that makes it a vicious circle because the arousal from the flagellation required for further flagellation to expiate the latest sin
The circle can be broken by just accepting and loving yourself.
The guilt is a programming tactic for control.
you are right!!
it spoils the pleasure of everything
especially if you start experiencing the guilt while you are doing the sin...it's a bit of an anticlimax in a way.
but after i take myself to the privacy of the confessional booth every Friday evening and spill the beans so to speak, as soon as I am given the absolution and the penance, I immediacy feel relived and ready to go and sin again afresh..
yes it is a vicious circle.
