"War: it's what we do the most and attend to the least. It's a nasty combination."

Very good article.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards commander says its troops in Syria

(Reuters) - Members of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) are providing non-military assistance in Syria and Iran may get involved militarily if its closest ally comes under attack, commander-in-chief Mohammad Ali Jafari said on Sunday.

Us had a lot of energy, they just buy it elsewhere so they run out of it before US does. chuckle.gif

Exactly. I still believe that is part of the plan. Use up the oil supply and we are the new OPEC.

We have plenty of energy to not only keep the machine rolling, but to kick start an entire industry. Between the coal and natural gas we have enough fuel to run hundreds of years. All we will need to do is start working on converting current systems/vehicles (new industry and jobs to build, distribute, sell and install the converters) as well as distributing the fuel (stations converted to offer natural gas pumps to replace the current system.) Add to that the improvements with coal liquefaction and we are set.

Welcome to the KB ToddAlan1! beercheer.gif Yeah it is a good synopsis. I was at the store (where I work) today and discussing gas prices (~ CDN $1.30/litre) people are all upset. i said 'wait, if Israel attacks Iran we'll see $2/litre overnight' they looked at me oddly, seemed sort of ... uncomfortable and the guy just goes 'Haha' and walks out. I wondered what they were thinking. Do they not realize it's a genuine possibility? Do they think it'll be a far distant Afghanistan that won't affect their lives other than the rare short news clip they can mute? dunno.gif seems to me people just bury their heads deeper in the sand when you give them info.

Yessir, I have always said it was going to take a diversification of alternative fuels and improved efficiency of powerplants to ween us off oil crud. We will always need oil for synthetics and other chemicals but the less we need as a fuel source the less we consume. Which relates to higher supply and less demand. Win/Win...

Not bad for a Big Oil Schill huh?
